“Saridel has done multiple projects for us. He has done both our bathrooms and our kitchen, which is now a showpiece that wows everyone that steps foot into our house. These projects were complete remodels down to the studs of a very dated home. His work is second to none. He is an extremely talented carpenter who is completely trustworthy and will give you exceptional quality work, with straight forward and reasonable pricing. You never have to worry about leaving your home unattended when he is there. “I highly recommend Greater Portland Renovations. Originally, they did a rot repair job for us. Moisture got in under or front door and caused rot. They arrived to do the work on the scheduled day at the time promised. Even though the rot spread a bit further than expected, the cost remained within the estimated range. I was so impressed with the integrity of the company and kindness of the workers, that I also decided to hire them to install new hardwood floors in our home. As they were doing the job, they came across more rot under the back door, which we had no idea about. They took everything in stride. They repaired the issue right away, and charged us a reasonable amount to repair it. Our old floors were both glued and nailed down with a nail about every half inch of flooring. This was by means no easy job. They still managed to finish the job quickly, as they knew we were trying to sell our home. The floors were installed perfectly, and look amazing. I would recommend Greater Portland Renovations to ANYONE!!!”

“I had a fire in my home and much of the kitchen was damaged, we experience a grease fire. He came out to my home examined the damage, was extremely helpful in what would work for a design/colors that would make it to be my home. Unfortunately we did not hire him, but we are now looking to building a new home and once we decide on a plot of land, more than likely will be contacting him.”

“George Trojan is a gifted and talented professional. He excels in both general contracting of large building jobs as well as being a detailed perfectionist in finish carpentry projects. His work ethic and good humor along with his desire to please the customer make him a delight to work with. Working as the project manager in the rebuilding of my home after a fire, I found him easily accessible and available and immediately responsive to my questions, requests, and suggestions. The advice he provided on design was superb and his ability to grasp and handle a large number of challenges and problems made the job go quickly and smoothly. His practice of working through and completing one job before taking on another made me, as the customer, feel like I was his first and only priority. “JPs team at Blackbird has done projects for our family including: - Rebuilding the foundation and renovating our 1930s Northern Maine lakeside camp - Tightening up, staining, painting, and general upkeep for my family's 1870s oceanfront home - Bringing the exterior of my parents' 1920s Tudor home in the New York City suburbs into the 21st Century + interior painting - Re-siding and shoring up our historically significant 1800s post and beam barn - The complete exterior renovation of our 1786 historic home in Portland, Maine including massive reconstruction of rotted woodwork and meticulous reproduction of one-of-a-kind trim and siding. If six stars were available as a rating, Blackbird would have earned each one 10 times over. JPs work exceeds every possible expectation from customer service and interaction to hand-milling the necessary clapboards for our historic renovation, from building a gorgeous and indestructible woodshed to entertaining our children (and dogsitting our wacky Labs!). Whatever project you have, large or small, expect delightful interactions with a skilled craftsman and consummate professional. His detailed budgets have been spot on, with room to accommodate all but the most unexpected hidden conditions (e.g. structure-threatening rot uncovered beneath seemingly solid clapboards -- which JP handled impressively). For any future work we need, we will wait as long as we need to until JP is available to do the project. After our experiences with him, we'd never take our business anywhere else.”
