“Tom Phenicie is a high integrity person, and this is the primary reason I hired him to build my home and every project needed at rental and commercial properties I own. I do not shop on competitive bids for my projects because there really are no competitors to Tom. Materials cost what they do regardless of the contractor so the only difference possible is the person on the job. My primary residence recently appraised at over 1 million, a 60% appreciation in 12 years! Quality that stands the test of time is why Tom is currently estimating a second recreational home in a neighboring state for my wife and I. We will have to pay more due to travel distance and out of state licensing, but frankly Tom is worth it. Cost figures below are for most recent commercial project.”

“MRC completed several projects for us: built a detached two level two car garage, built a 10'x20' sunroom where we once had a screened porch, gutted and remodeled our master bathroom, and put in a stone driveway. Brian excels at working with the client to make the many decisions involved with any construction project. With all projects he stayed within the detailed budget and finished within a reasonable time frame. He is both creative and practical bringing years of construction expertise to the work. The garage and sun room were completed in 2012 and six years later are in great shape. The bathroom was completed in 2015 and exceeded all expectations. We feel lucky to have found Brian!”

He is as adept at adding an elevator to an existing house not originally designed for one, as he is at building a luxury timbered cabin in the remote Catoctin mountains, as he is gutting and renovating the interior of a condo. “Very reasonably priced for the quality of work. Very trustworthy - They worked in my house with out me being home. Very willing to work with the client and offer many suggestions. The attention to detail is amazing. I have hired them repeatedly for projects in my home - two bathrooms and a kitchen renovation. They have also done other tasks in addition to total renovations.”

“I first met Art Holland on March 15, 2001. I remember because that was the day my cabin at Deep Creek Lake caught fire and burned to the ground. Once we had made the decision to rebuild, calling Art was my first thought. I had admired his building style, using larger diameter logs and his “Yellowstone Log Homes” business was thriving after having built about 100 homes here in the area. We took several months to decide what we wanted and then approached Art. Art’s passion in life is building homes that fulfill his customers’ dreams, and that was apparent to us immediately. I had drawings we had sketched and some ideas about what we wanted, but it was Art who carefully guided us by pointing out alternatives that we hadn’t thought of or different ideas that were cheaper, or easier to accomplish. Some trickier details of the job were artfully built, and the end result was a unique home that we LOVE living in. When we had an unfortunate flood from a frozen pipe just weeks before completion that did $100,000 worth of damage, Art stepped right up to deal with the insurance company and had remediation efforts started immediately. Beyond building a beautiful home for us, Art has helped us maintain the home, and when issues arose, he has always been there for us and provided support more like you’d expect from a friend than a builder.
