“I couldn't be happier. Mari's suggestions were top-notch, though my wife and I felt the need to look at lots of other stuff before we returned to her original ideas and saw they were best. The materials were superb, everything was as-advertised, her workers were top professionals, the job has gotten oohs and aahs, even from a cynical friend who is "in the business" in a different county. My wife and I, now 6 months later, still stare admiringly at our new kitchen every day and the many perfect little touches, and can find not one tiny little itsy bitsy complaint or suggestion for improvement. It's gorgeous, it was inexpensive for what we got, it was on time. A rave, right? But she deserves it. It's a matter of taste, but I'd recommend what we got: the quaker maple cabinets, light natural wood (as opposed to painted white) and quartz countertops -- all the way to the ceiling, with concave crown moulding making the connection to the ceiling. Looks like a million bucks. Plus, Mari was delightful. Very upbeat and easy to work with.”

“We had our large master bathroom remodeled by JEJ Enterprises this summer and we are extremely pleased with the results. James was very easy to work with and helpful in developing the plan for the project. It was a very big job. The heart of the project was removing a large, but rarely used Jacuzzi tub, replacing it with a giant shower with a bench. The small standup shower was removed and replaced with a closet. The one-sink vanity was taken out and replaced with a new two-sink vanity. The large existing mirror and lighting fixture were removed and replaced with separate mirrored medicine cabinets and lighting fixtures over each sink. Recessed lighting over the main floor and in the shower replaced the existing single overhead light and an exhaust fan was added. A new radiant heat floor was installed under the new tile floor. James' pricing estimate was reasonable compared with the other bids we received, and his team completed the work at the time we requested. He also diagnosed the cause of water stains on our kitchen ceiling, tracking them back to leaks in the baseboard heating pipes in both our upstairs bathrooms. He and his men fixed the leaks and repaired the ceiling. He was very engaged with the project on a day-to-day basis. He made helpful suggestions regarding the materials and fixtures, but was flexible in working with our choices, giving priority to making the final result perfect for us. He introduced us to suppliers who were also helpful. His team cleaned up nightly and any inconvenience related to the project was manageable. Finally, James is very pleasant to deal with. The end result is beautiful. I would highly recommend JEJ Enterprises”

I had owned it for 20 years when I hired Deborah Gans to save it (it was collapsing) and reinvent it (it was a warren of awkward rooms). She turned into an airy, light-filled, elegant but modern, completely comfortable but also gorgeous home. She knew when to spend money, and when to hold back. She was inventive without being scarily inventive. When there were problems, as there always are, she figured out how to solve them, and held my hand at the same time. “Working with Jimmy Crisp and his associates was a great and valuable learning experience that could not have turned out better than it did. Jimmy truly met, and in many instances, went beyond our expectations. The project, which was a complete gut renovation, went very smoothly and it did come in on budget with the exception of new items that were included after our original quote. Of course there were differences of opinions and long discussions about changes/desired outcomes and new costs, however, I would say that because of Jimmy's constant presence at the site, complete knowledge of exactly what was suppose to happen at all stages of the project and calm manner we escaped situations that could, at the time, have been less satisfactory. Jimmy, the associates and clerical employees of his firm are all a 10 in my book! My experience with Crisp Architects makes me believe that anyone seeking a great architect, backed by a most professional staff, could not do better than to choose Crisp Architects.”

“We had a complete renovation done of our bedroom wing with 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and a hallway under Heike's guidance. This was the 2nd project we have done with her, and we are once more thrilled with the result! What we like about Heike is that, she is a nice person to work with, she listens well, does extra research, has a lot of knowledge of materials and where to get them, and last but not least the fact that she comes from Europe and understands our modern European taste well. She introduced a number of nice touches in the overall design and paid attention to the overall energy efficiency of the renovation. She also worked with our contractor and the building department of our town. We can full-heartedly recommend her.”
