Dry Well Contractors in Toronto
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 7, 2025
“We had our front and rear patio done by Big Town Contracting in 1998, yes 26 yrs ago and to date aside from a couple of off set patio stones close to my house which I think due to earth movements , the project is still very well intact. I wholeheartedly recommend their work.”
Greenhouse Landscaping Ltd.
Dry Well Contractors in Toronto
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 8, 2024
“I worked with Fred and his company and I can tell you that this is the best company that exist out there. These guys are the real deal. They are professionals and they don't cut corners. We hired them to replace the decks for our balconies and they superseded our expectations. The work was done professionally, no cutting corners. Fred is so responsive and goes out of way to accommodate our requests and to do the job right. He takes pride of what he does. he is extremely honest too. He doesn't cheat to make pay more money. On the contrary, he advises you how to save money, which is his loss, but this is who Fred is. honesty for him means a lot. his workers are polite, hard working guys and so respectful with the Owners. After they finished work, they cleaned up the place and never left a mess. What a team Fred had. I have worked with many guys during the last 25 years in this business, but I have not seen honest guys like Fred's Team. Kuddos to You Fred and to Your Team. This company is the best out there. Trust me on this one. This was my first time that I didn't complained for anything during this project. There was nothing to complain with these guys. Well done Fred and his team. Continue like this and everyone will hire you. Kuddos again to You Fred and to your Team for being so great.”
Borealis Gardens

“Ken and Borealis Gardens did a fantastic job with our front garden last fall. His team was prompt efficient and service oriented. His design sensibility was excellent and we are thrilled with the result. He and his team have changed the curb appeal of our house and likely changed the property value in a significant way. I was sick of our grass garden and straight sidewalk. He showed us what was possible and then executed. Value for money was excellent as well. I'm happy to have anyone come look for themselves!”

Landscaper FAQs
The duration depends on the complexity of the project, ranging from a couple of days to several weeks. Preliminary assessment, design phase, obtaining permits, excavation, installation, and landscaping restoration are the main phases. A straightforward project might take a few days, whereas a more complex system involving multiple dry wells or challenging site conditions might take longer.
Materials selection is guided by local soil conditions, the volume of water to be managed, and environmental regulations. Common materials include gravel, perforated pipes, and precast concrete well structures. Design trends lean towards eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing solutions, incorporating rain gardens or landscaping features that complement the dry well system while enhancing the propertyʼs appearance.
Homeowners should clear the project area of personal belongings and provide contractors with access. Itʼs beneficial to discuss with your contractor any concerns about landscaping or features you wish to preserve. Ensure you understand the scope of work and have agreed on a project timeline. Also, verifying that the contractor has obtained the necessary permits is crucial.
Experienced contractors anticipate challenges such as unforeseen underground utilities, poor soil conditions, or water table issues. They often perform thorough site assessments and may adjust the design, involve additional expertise, or utilize specific construction techniques to overcome these challenges. Effective communication throughout the project ensures homeowners are kept informed of any adjustments.
Ideally, look for contractors who have specific experience with dry well systems, hold certifications from reputable organizations in the field of stormwater management, and possess a solid understanding of local environmental regulations. References from past projects similar to yours and a history of compliance with building codes are also key indicators of a reliable contractor.
A reputable contractor should offer guarantees for their work and be willing to address any post-installation issues. Ensure thereʼs a clear contract in place that outlines the scope of work, warranty terms, and dispute resolution procedures. Regular maintenance checks and open lines of communication can help mitigate potential issues before they become significant problems.
