“Having lived in the Huntsville area only a few years, we asked a number of pool-owning friends in the area which builder they used and if they would recommend them. Overwhelmingly, the answer was “Johnson Pools” and “Yes!” Working with an established and experienced pool company was important to us, as horror stories abound in the pool construction industry in fast-growing areas like ours. From the first appointment, Greg Dolzonek demonstrated the experience, knowledge, and creativity we knew we needed. Our large, elongated and sloped lot offered little entertaining space besides that of the wooden and weathered tuck-in back porch. Greg listened to our goals, assessed our site, respected our budget, and produced an unconstrained design for the space that far exceeded our expectations. GT’s contract document was clear and concise as was the payment schedule. Knowing from the start what we were responsible for hiring out was beneficial. Since electrical, gas and water hookups are not included in the contract, we were responsible for hiring that work and coordinating it to GT’s construction timeline. We are very “hands on” home-owners and had the skills needed to contract those pieces, but it was more time intensive than anticipated. If you are considering a pool project of this scope or larger, consider hiring a site manager or general contractor, especially if you are “hands off” with construction projects or have a demanding schedule. Through the build, Greg and his GT Custom Pool staff were exceptional. No matter what question or concern we had, Greg and his team always responded promptly, fully and to our satisfaction. GT’s hard working crews were always polite and friendly, as were the subcontractors hired to do the brick masonry, retaining walls and pavers. GT communicated and addressed any issues that came up promptly and effectively. When shoddy brickwork was revealed under the wooden deck, Greg weighed the options with us and the brick was expertly concealed! When poor quality materials arrived at the site – the materials were sent back. If a modification was going to result in an additional charge, the change was quoted in advance. We are so pleased with our pool and the work of GT Custom Pools. It is clear to us that Greg and GT Custom Pools take pride in their work, they love their work, and deliver outstanding and uncompromising quality in everything they do. Highly recommend.”

We are swimming while others that started before ours are still under construction although the others were promised more and sooner. His prices are 'in the ball park' and if they happen to be a $1,000 or $2,000 more, still worth every penny to get a pool that is built right.”
