“My husband and I couldn't agree on a paint color for a specific section of our home's exterior, and we went back and forth to the hardware store for numerous paint samples, which we spot checked in areas all over the house. It was a super frustrating process until Slate Design Studio stepped in. Our professional was able to provide digital renderings of the house showcasing a carefully selected array of colors so that we could clearly see how the section of the house would look in its entirety next to every other surface it touched and needed to coordinate with. Our professional offered to change colors as needed, or answer questions for us throughout the process, and he was prompt with his replies when we asked him anything. We were able to specify the brand of paint we wanted to use, and our digital rendition was tweaked accordingly, with paint colors and product numbers listed so that we knew exactly what to look for in the store. Suddenly the process was simple - we may never go back to our antiquated system of choosing colors. My husband and I have almost decided on one color we both like (the options he presented are really good, and one was a color we never even considered, but frankly like better than our own ideas) , and painting will begin in August. “Our relationship with Peterson Builders began due to a recommendation by the local hotel clerk in Eden, two years before we could even get started on our home project. Living in California, and being the designer of the home with the desire to be hands-on participants, we knew we needed a company that we could rely on to give us reins while being able to trust in their abilities, being absentee a great deal of the process. When the hotel clerk learned of our passion about building our new home she assured us that Peterson's was the group we should meet. From our very first meeting with long time Eden local Lynn Peterson, founder of Peterson Builders, we knew we were in the hands of professionals that were genuinely interested in making sure we would be comfortable and completely happy with the process. Once we were ready to proceed, our job was turned over into the capable hands of Peterson's general contractor, a master wood craftsman, Erik Johnson. Under Erik's leadership we have had the real pleasure of working with his team of professionals who have been excellent in every possible way. As for Erik, we have come to learn that any idea, unusual or otherwise that I would toss out to him, was always handled with great care and thought on how to accomplish what I had as a vision for. He always came up with a way to make things work out. We are currently about half way through the project and have been nothing but thrilled with the progress, particularly in light of the unusual aspects of our requests. From our three ton granite solid rock bathtub for our second story master bathroom to our delicate Koi fish lamps for our Zen Farmhouse style home, we are relishing the process of this project. Peterson's is innovative with the times, providing us with the Builder Trend program so we can follow the progress with photos and updates via computer; accommodating with our desire to build the way we would like; and we feel like we have a new family in our new town. As Erik and I were working on the schedule just recently, it looked like we could get the project wrapped up the week after Thanksgiving. Erik turned to me and said, "Do you want to be in for Thanksgiving? We can make that happen for you." He meant it too, and that is what good people do when they care about you and something that you are passionate about. They value and respect you, and the entire Peterson Builders company is all about that - and it shows in their work.”
