“My husband and I first hired Unger and Mahns in 2000 to build our 5500 Sq. ft. house in Rumson,NJ.The design was classic,sophisticated,tasteful and timeless."Michael and Michael" guided us through the design and construction and were available on site whenever the builder needed them.When we sold the house in 2008,the structural engineer that the buyers hired to inspect the house said it was one of the best built homes he had ever inspected. In 2006,we hired them again to do the plans for our summer home in Cape May, N.J. They designed our fabulous dutch colonial that looks like it is 100 years old.We are consistently told that is it one of the prettiest homes in town and not a day goes by where someone doesn't stop and comment on it.Our builder in CM said that the plans he received from U and M were the most detailed and complete set of plans he had ever worked with. They designed the new Rumson Country Club Pool House.It is a masterpiece! I am a real estate agent and my husband is as type "A" as they come.We are tough customers and pretty demanding.We recommend U and M 100% and feel they are worth their weight in gold.They are not the least expensive in the area but you get what you pay for.They are thorough,knowledgeable and very experienced.”

“The centerpiece of our home renovation was a floating, black walnut spiral staircase envisioned by Jibe Design principal Juliet Whelan. It is breathtaking, and brings architectural distinctiveness as well as light into our row home. The project also gave us several more feet of precious space thanks to the removal of a chimney we did not realize was behind a wall. Whelan came into our space and saw all kinds of fresh possibilities, but also succeeded at learning and honoring our aesthetic. It was a pleasure to work with Jibe Design. “We are very pleased with the result of more than a year's work, starting with pen and paper and a discussion on what we needed in a home, reviewing and editing floor plans, getting to plot plans, elevation views, and ultimately a final set of plans. This was no easy task, considering we were building a new home post-Sandy, at the Jersey Shore, and with flood maps changing during the process, being in dual zoning districts, and with required building heights uncertain. But, finally, we are done (mostly!) Scott, Jack and Bill were all great to deal with, they listened to our needs and wants, and helped us make decisions on the trade-offs you always need to consider when space is limited on the lot and you have a long list of needs and wants. The style of the house is a cape cod, the architectural detail is outstanding and it fits well into the existing neighborhood which is situated one block from the start of the historic district here in Ocean City. Ultimately, we love the house and get compliments on it every single day from strangers walking past and from family and friends who are visiting.
