“Shan is an exceptional craftsman and energy efficient builder. I was on a number of his jobs and his work was above and beyond the quality of anyone else in the area. I highly recommend Shan and would use his services if I was building. I was a supplier to Shan for a number of years of prefabricated building systems and materials. I visited most construction sites and Shan built some exceptional homes of complex design. Shan was always competent, very professional, detail oriented, and honest. “Dave, and Mindful Designs Inc., helped us design, budget, and is now building our custom home. I would describe Dave's approach to design much like a police sketch artist. Without realizing he was doing so, I would find that he had listened to the details I was sharing and our visions and styles and had incorporated then into a design that not only fit our budget but was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. There were lots of design elements we felt strongly about and others we were indifferent toward. Dave made room for our ideas when they were present and interjected some awesome notion when we had no opinion. His ability to listen, process, and create is paramount and his willingness to let your priorities and wishes guide the process while sprinkling his wisdom throughout the process combine to make the design experience seamless. He does not rest until he sees joy in his clients' eyes. We are still in the process of building but so far it's been a transparent, manageable experience and we have felt we are in MDI's capable hands. I'd wholeheartedly recommend MDI if you want a unique house that is wise about energy, beautiful, and an overall good experience to craft.”

“I was the interior designer on this project and worked closely with their project managers and the client. I did most of the work long distance, via the internet, so good communication was essential. Their staff was excellent and the quality of construction exceeded expectations. The resulting project was published in the Big Sky Journal and won an ASID Award (MN chapter). Jerry Locati's style is mainly Western/Rustic, but I'm sure his talents go beyond that and his capabilities are broad. I would recommend them with the highest possible ratings!”
