“Once again the experience was phenomenal! We have used 1st Choice Builders before for our current home and because of the excellent experience hired them again for 2 rental units that needed some renovations. As with any home project, there are always situations that arise that need some strategic solutions. 1st Choice Builders's master carpentry team are amazing! They can easily resolve any issue that appears to be complicated and to you the customer, makes it appear a)so minor and b)totally reduces any anxiety you may have. The other benefit to 1st choice builders is their extensive list of building suppliers for items needed. In addition, their master plumbers, electricians and HVAC to name a few are top notch. I see how this company has been in business for over 10 years based on their attentiveness to the customer - always responding quickly! As well their staff retention is high which speaks volumes to a business. “I chose Tom for a few reasons. From the three bids that we received, I liked and trusted him the most. I having a background in construction myself, I was able to test him, as I did with everyone else. And I valued his honesty and work ethics. He was very good with explaining and answered most of my questions before I ask them. His. His price was reasonable as well. As for the end results, my wife and I were very happy and ended up giving him another job. The initial job was a shared bathroom. And later on we hire Tom to do the master bathroom which came out amazing!”

“No lie. I was dreading the remodel process. I was worried that someone would try and pressure me into a sale, or that it would drag on and cost more than I budgeted. But this was the least painful remodel I could imagine. I felt super in control and never pressured to do something I didn’t want or couldn’t afford. The work was done properly and they helped me find appliances and decor that worked for me. If I remodel my bathrooms I would for sure call them back.”

“We have worked with a LOT of contractors over the years - we built one home from the ground up in Palo Alto, and extensively remodeled another one in Los Gatos. Kurt at PACM is the best GC I have ever worked with. He converted our unfurnished garage into a bed/bath/storage/workout room and upgraded the lighting throughout our house, and I could not be happier with the results. He is smart, serious, careful, respectful & diligent in thinking through every aspect of a project. He is also NEVER flaky - responds quickly and thoroughly to every communication. Unlike many contractors I have worked with, he is a straight shooter and never makes excuses or tries to shift blame onto others on the (rare) occasions when something goes wrong. If delays happen for reasons he can't control, he is apologetic & is works hard to find creative solutions. His rates are fair, and he has even gone "above and beyond" several times to help out with small, time-sensitive projects when we have been in a pinch. We even entrusted him with our house key so his team could finish up some tasks while we were out of town. We are continuing to work with him on several smaller projects. In short, we are thrilled to have found PACM and cannot recommend them more highly.”

“Renovation of kids' bathroom: 4 week | $20K; Layout: same House style: Tudor (5 bedrooms; 3.5 baths) Design: all new Groehl hardware with satin nickel, granite countertop, 2 undermounted Kolher sinks, Toto toilet, subway tiles in shower/bath with blue/gray grout and blue/gray floor tiles, new Panasonic LED light & fan on timer. This bathroom had the 80s decor with wall-to-wall pink tiles & matching pink fixtures & gold hardware. After 8-years of living with the eye sour, a recent toilet problem and ongoing poor ventilation, it was time to rip out the old and update. Being a management consultant, I'm juggling deadlines, costs, options and people all the time. Jesse & his team worked well with this mindset and my wishes. When we hired Jesse among the 4 we interviewed, he knew we were ready for this project when he saw all the fixtures, hardware, flooring and tiles were already waiting for him in the garage. Jesse wasn't part of my design process, but he gave great input & options when I needed to make timely decisions like tile work, venting & counter fabrication. What I enjoyed about working with Jesse was his communications & planning. He worked with all medium: text, email & phone. He & crew responded quickly. Before the project started, Jesse gave me a timeline which I incorporated into my calendar. For each week, I knew the progression and what tasks I needed to complete to keep the team moving ahead. The project was finished on time. My next project is the master bath. It's got a strange layout. We hope to incorporate a walk-in closet from our bedroom which we don't have. I look forward to working with Jesse on this one and I will definitely need his design skills.”
