Lucy Harris is a full-service interior design studio based in New York City. Building on personal histories rooted in design, Lucy and her team create spaces that are reflective of the people who inhabit them, mingled with their own love of modernism. Lucy Harris’ process is a collaborative one. The studio takes all aspects of its clients’ lives into account to yield a unique narrative for each room. From the initial vision through to completion, Lucy Harris ensures that every detail, every accent, every moment is meaningful, intentional and beautiful. Lucy Harris’ clients come from varied backgrounds, but have one thing in common: A desire to live in homes that tell distinctive stories. The studio has worked on residential and hospitality projects in New York City, Westchester and the Hamptons and embraces the opportunity to work on design projects the world over. About Lucy Harris Growing up in a modernist house in Concord, Massachusetts, Lucy Harris was surrounded by, and given an appreciation for, thoughtful design. From her great-great grandparent’s eclectic art- and antiques-filled Federal townhouse in Beacon Hill (now the Nichols House Museum) to her great-grandparents’ Arts and Crafts summer home in Ipswich, Massachusetts to the Mid-Century house where she currently lives in Westchester’s Usonia, Lucy has always surrounded herself with thoughtful, beautiful, timeless design. Building on that heritage, Lucy continues to be influenced by many different movements in art and design, from the Bauhaus to Minimalism. Eclecticism is at the root of her designs, and her work is reminiscent of the “impossible bouquets” of Dutch Master painters, in which flowers that would not normally grow together exist side-by-side in the name of art. An avid traveler who has lived in Rome and Milan, Lucy visits Europe often for inspiration, and sources furniture, rugs, lighting and materials from all over the world. She also works with skilled craftspeople from Los Angeles to Brooklyn to realize her custom designs. Marsha Matto is the principal and head designer of Point of View Interiors. Marsha has over 20 years of experience in high-end residential and commercial design. Her scope ranges from fabulous designs for a room or two, to being an integral part of the team in building a high-end dream house from the ground up, to life transforming renovations. Point of View’s projects have included elegant homes in Connecticut, the Hamptons, and Miami Beach, as well as exceptional apartments and commercial spaces in Manhattan. Marsha’s construction knowledge sets her apart; and as a result, she is respected by builders and architects a like. Team is key. Marsha will effortlessly blend her talents and knowledge with that of the other team players; such as the architect, builder, artisans and most of all, the client. It is her job to extract the client’s vision of their home. The client must be satisfied; after all we are creating your personal sanctuary. And if the team is solid enough, the road should be - although hectic - rather enjoyable. She brings creativity, experience, professionalism, exceptional resources and a high level of service, which is priceless. Marsha believes design should be a planned controlled process. A true analysis of your personality and vision, as well as collaborating conversations to define your needs. Only this will give you the result you’ve dreamt of. She will move forward with a job in a methodical controlled way, with out stifling the emotional undercurrents of creating one's home. After the process is complete you will have a home that will match your vision. A harmonious relationship between architecture, proportion, color and interior accents bringing together elegance and comfort. The reflection of you and your family should be felt in every single detail. Marsha received her B.S. in Interior Design from Chamberlayne School of Design and Merchandising at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA in 1992. She also currently teaches Interior Design at the University of Bridgeport, where she is a well-respected faculty member. Marsha loves to teach her students the ins and outs of the field as only a practicing Interior Designer with her level of experience can. Her hands on approach has served her students well and she truly enjoys giving back.
