“MasterPlan provided me with a complete landscape design for my backyard patio, pool area and deck. From the time Josh and I first met to discuss the project through the end of the construction, Josh was nothing but professional, knowledgeable and accessible. Josh provided a state of the art 3D digital proposal for my patio, deck and pool area and the final product exceeded my expectations. He oversaw all aspects of the project including obtaining the architectural drawings, filing for permits, attending a variance hearing and supervising the multiple subcontractors on the project. Josh was available for any questions or concerns that arose and checked in with me frequently for my feedback and to keep me up to date with scheduling. Josh has a welcome attention to detail and pointed out small changes that made a big difference. The final product is an impressive and welcoming backyard oasis that my family and friends will enjoy for many years. I have used designers and subcontractors on multiple occasions and this has been , by far, my best experience. I highly recommend Josh and MasterPlan to anyone considering an outdoor project. “I enjoy doing my own gardening, but needed help creating a cohesive design for my 1-acre lawn. Susan of The Crafted Garden evaluated my property, listened to my ideas, and then created a landscape design that could be implemented in stages. She provided drawings, including transparencies over pictures of our existing garden to help us envision the change. She consulted us at each stage, telling us what to expect in costs of labor and plant material. With Susan's crew, we began in Fall '13, altering the site's hard scape, then fine-tuned the beds and planted this spring, completing the first and largest phase of the work. Susan reoriented the approach to our home, widened beds, and created a planting scheme that tied the different areas together, incorporating native species that provide good habitats for birds. Susan and her crew were prompt, worked very quickly, and left the site clean. They accomplished in two weekends what would have taken me 6 months. Susan provided information about what we needed to do to keep our plants healthy -- watering schedules, mulch, etc. it has been exciting to see the the plants flourish and to envision the garden's continuing maturity. (I have inadequate pictures taken with my phone, but will post pictures at another date.) We had a positive experience and I learned a great deal about the process. When we began, I was focused on the plants to be chosen. But it was Susan's careful preparation -- curving a walk here, arcing a bed there -- that showcased our home's best features, and set the stage for a garden that offers us color and lovely scent throughout the seasons. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Susan as a creative and knowledgeable partner.”

“Apple Tree provided an exceptional design proposal for the complete remodeling of our challenging sloped landscape. The design included a new stone stair/walkway, an enhanced erosion prevention concept for the hilly front of our property, an extended boulder garden, updated plantings around our house to shield a new whole house generator, a blind of hemlocks to enhance privacy on our back porch, along with a new sod lawn and a complete irrigation system to maintain the entire site. An enhanced accent lighting system provided a finishing aesthetic touch to the project that we will treasure for years to come. The project leaders, Wayne (design), Len (project management), and Rich (irrigation), were a highly professional team that exceeded our expectations in all aspects including timing, budget, adapting to our personal needs, and quality of the overall outcome.
