“This was the second renovation project I had undertaken and, based on my first with a different contractor, I knew that there were three key elements I would need: (1) quality of work; (2) someone who would handle everything eliminating the need for my having to quarterback; and (3) responsiveness. Avi and his team far surpassed all three. After doing the requisite diligence to interview contractors and their past clients, comparing price points, services offered and experiences had by others, I opted to go with Gallery. During the contracting phase, they were very attentive to my questions and objectives expressed. Once the work started, Avi and Colin were in regular contact to advise me of progress and matters requiring my input. I found that the site they uses for these exchanges, to centralize all of the information about my project and share progress photos was also instrumental in keeping everyone aligned and avoid miscommunications. The care and professionalism with which they did their work was bar none, and there as always someone to answer my questions and address any concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend Avi/Gallery or use them again.”

“Magnolia Home Remodeling recently completed a project where they transformed a small kitchen and living room from an 'in-law suite' into a sunken family room, tearing down a wall with a tiny door that previously connected the suite to the rest of the house and instead building up a half wall with 3 beautiful columns and two steps as the entry to the family. I couldn't be more pleased with the process, the outcome and the full team. The owner, Chris, came for my initial consultation, listened to what I was looking for (I knew generally what I wanted but could use some design advice), and gave my valuable insights on where I should put the opening to the room to maximize the placement of our furniture. He even stopped me from making a decision that would've cost me thousands of dollars extra but wouldn't have added much value to the room (you heard me correctly, he stopped me from unnecessarily paying extra money!). After signing contracts and we received our city permits, his team got in and quickly kicked off the project (taking about 3 weeks to complete the project), being respectful of our family's personal space/time, and putting up a tarp to minimize dust from going to other parts of the house (though it's hard to avoid it). Beyond the great outcome of the project--a beautiful open space with gorgeous columns atop a half wall that separates the family room and dining room--, Magnolia gets 5 stars from me because of the incredible customer service. If there was something I didn't like or forgot to mention earlier, Chris was very friendly and accommodating and made sure I got what I wanted. For instance, the first time they did the molding on the columns, it was very plain and didn't look at all like what I showed them I wanted from a pinterest photo, and that was the "statement piece' of the project for me. So I spoke to Chris, he went to the house to check it out and the next day his team re-did the molding and it was exactly what I wanted! The only piece that wasn't 5 stars was that the electrician (though very friendly) didn't get everything done right the first time or would forget certain things and you'd have to remind him. That said, he still did really great work and the customer service of the full team was strong enough to overcompensate a couple of hiccups in that department. I will definitely be reaching out to these guys again for my next project.”

“We purchased a 25-year-old cedar home which has been well-maintained but needs a lot of upkeep. Came across RB on Houzz - impressed with a remodel that tuned out to be in our neighborhood! Contacted Ed to look at several different minor refresh and maintenance projects. Garage renovation Additional basement storage Office window installation (through concrete) General painting He took the time to hear our laundry list, gave some great advice and followed up promptly with a clear, flexible and fairly-priced proposal. We got distracted by life and put the projects aside. Fast-forward a couple of years and Ed picked up right where we left off. Wish we had done it sooner! Each resource was top-notch, from the painters to the masons. I’ve woekwd with lots of different g contractors in the many different projects over the years and these were the best. Our project manager did the carpentry and he was terrific and thorough. Never had a mess - ever - and barely a blip in convenience (and I work from home). We’ve since followed up with a thorough walkthrough inside and out to examine and address exterior and maintenance, revamped landscaping and hardscaping. Now we’ll tackle projects with a holistic plan and logical order. It’s completely reassuring - and efficient- to know that each project will have top-quality resources assigned and scheduled. And when it’s time for resale, we think the RB “umbrella” will be a positive signal to potential buyers that this is a well-cared for home. What impresses most: they are serious, high-end builders and give the same quality, attention and experienced resources regardless of project size. I’ve referred a couple of friends already. Simply the best. Don’t hesitate!”

“Dave and his team are the friendliest team in the business! I interviewed many contractors, and from day 1, Dave felt like the friend you've always known your whole life. He's very honest about the budget expectation for the work you want done, and is very transparent with how the project will be run. His team has a clear passion for the work they do. I also had a personal time constraint and was eager to get the renovation done quickly but efficiently, and the ERNA team worked around the clock to get the job done, even during these difficult COVID times. Admittedly, there were a few issues that came up during the project. But it speaks volumes when a company like ERNA gets the entire team to work together and help correct the problems. I felt free enough to speak my mind about certain topics and felt heard by the team. I would suggest that future clients be very clear about what they want, and keep your communication records. To those who are looking for a contracting team who will do whatever it takes to bring quality, honest, and beautiful work to your home, definitely consider working with ERNA!!”

“We hired Jon Eklund and the Ecostruct team to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms in a Manhattan high-rise. Ecostruct was selected from three bidders that our designer and project manager collected on The Sweeten. We selected Ecostruct initially because the price was significantly lower than the other contractors that bid on the place. Based solely on price, we had some concerns that we would be sacrificing quality for the lower price, but this was not the case at all. We got a good deal on a fairly complicated project and the results were terrific - they speak for themselves and our kitchen was recently featured in New York Magazine's Design Issue (http://nymag.com/homedesign/design-hunting/2014/winter/upper-west-side-kitchen/). Beyond the quality of the work and the price, let me describe what it is like to work with Jon and his team. First, our building staff has worked with a lot of contractors and they were very pleased and happy with Jon's team and how they respected the building rules and policies (which means a lot since I've heard horror stories of superintendents and contractors not getting along). This took a huge amount of stress off of us and meant that we didn't need to mediate anything. It also meant that the whole project could be completed basically on time - the transformation was done between Christmas and New Year's, with some touch-up work in the week or two following. Second, Jon is very helpful and accommodating when there are issues and surprises - and there will be issues and surprises. For example, we learned once the walls were down that the wiring for our kitchen was not done in the way that our design anticipated. Jon and Sarah Zames of General Assembly (our architect/designer and general project manager) called us immediately and we brainstormed options together. They presented three proposals to fix it, my wife and I suggested a modification to one that would be cheaper and Jon was happy with the idea and made the adjustment without losing any time in the process (which involved putting in a whole ceiling above our kitchen - how this didn't really slow us down, I will never know). Overall, we had three change orders but nothing that was outrageous on price or delay, and Jon was conscious and helpful in minimizing the costs for changes. Finally, Jon's team is great, but Jon himself worked on our project and was always available to answer emails or discuss over the phone. I mean always - we emailed him weeks after the project when we discovered that something did not work right and he promptly worked out a plan to fix it. You really are building a relationship with him and his growing business. For full disclosure, I should mention that not everything is perfect. We had some complicated herringbone tiling in the bathroom shower that we think was difficult for Jon's tiling guy and the edges don't look clean. The shower door also had an issue that Jon offered to fix for free but we decided it wasn't worth it in the end. But these are minor flaws in the overall quality of the work, given the speed and ease with which the project was completed, the overall aesthetic of the finished product and our overall satisfaction with Jon's attention to the project and to his relationship with us as his client. We would not hesitate to hire Ecostruct again for future (and larger) projects.”

“We initially hired MC Home Improvement to remodel our kitchen and to retile a rec room and foyer. We interviewed seven contracters before choosing Eric and we know that we definitely made the right choice. Not only did he seem very knowledgeable and confident about what needed to be done, but he exhibited a passion for his work that we did not see in other contracters. The men who did the work were very pleasant. They even stopped on several occassions to help my elderly mother to the car when her ride from a senior center came to pick her up. In addition to doing a beautiful job on everything they did they always left the area very clean each day when they left. We were so happy with the work that we decided to add crown molding to our living room. Their craftsmanship was amazing. In fact,a man that painted my living room a few weeks after the kitchen was done told me he had done contracting work and admired how well the tile and crown molding were done. Eric always returned texts or calls very promptly and always addressed any concerns that we had.We are so happy that we chose him and will definitely call him again for any future projects.”

“We hired I.M. Contracting to renovate our basement into a place where we could entertain, relax and watch tv, listen to our music collection, and work on our computer. Ian McGann, the owner of I.M. Contracting, worked with us to create the most amazing space. Ian has a great team of professionals ( electricians, painters, carpet installers, etc) who worked seamlessly with us as our basement was transformed into an awesome space to accommodate all of our needs and desires. In addition to being a skilled craftsman, Ian is also amazingly talented in assisting with design issues - paint colors, lighting, flooring options, etc. We loved working with I.M. Contracting on our lower level so much, we hired Ian McGann and his team to renovate/redesign our living room, dining room, and kitchen!”

Conniff Construction Co.
Mount Holly, NJ General Contracting Professionals
April 7, 2015
“I contracted with Conniff Construction in February 2015, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. As a result of a previous fraudulent contractor, I was left with a barely functioning bathroom in my home. Due to a mold issue, homeowners insurance granted us coverage for a bathroom repair. We didn't do our due diligence in selecting this original contractor (reading reviews, browsing the internet for credentials/past work, etc), and we suffered because of it. The previous contractor came in, ripped out all the walls and flooring, destroyed the plumbing, and ran off with the money - leaving us still with the mold problem and without a functioning bathroom. Conniff Construction came to the rescue and repaired our bathroom beautifully, and in a timely manner. Both Sean and John were extremely professional to work with, and had only their clients best interests in mind. They put our bathroom back together, including a custom tile floor job, reinstallment of sheetrock, rerouting of problematic plumbing, installation of new tub and removal of old tub, and most of all - rid us of the mold issue. Conniff Construction worked with us patiently while we went back and forth on design decisions. They installed all of the bathroom furniture, including vanity, mirror, and lighting. I felt extremely safe with having them work in my home alone, without supervision. They are safe and professional, and pose no risk from a safety or financial perspective. They are diligent and organized in their documentation, including their contract and estimates, and belong to multiple verified home owner's and builders associations in the state (as well as nationally). We felt very safe in their hands and we are confident we made the right decision in choosing them for our renovation. I would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a renovation or new build in the future.”
