“Diane did an amazing job transforming our house into the perfect home! When we sold our house this past spring everyone kept commenting on the amazing design! Diane also did an amazing job managing the project - so much that I kept saying "doing a reno is easy"! I realize it was easy as Diane was carrying all my stress. “We remember our first meeting with Jim when he was still with David Malling, first impression Jim is an excellent listener. We had done our research and were full of ideas on what we wanted in a home. Our dream home was not simple, curved walls, interesting roof lines, timber frame beams, oversized windows and doors, a massive fireplace, Jim made it all come to life on paper. Some of Jim's best attributes were his calm manner, promptness and availability. He was always reachable or prompt in getting back if we or our general contractor had a question or an issue. This was so reassuring especially when you are in the thick of a project of this magnitude. Building a home from scratch is never easy, but Jim helped simplify some decision making. His sample charts for example for the exterior of our home, he had choices for colour/style/texture to help us envision where we wanted stone versus brick and wood siding. When we think back on our overall experience in building our beautiful home, hiring Jim to design it was one of the best decisions we had made. Thanks Jim for making our dream come true !!!!!!”

“We contracted with Open Concept Home Design in 2012 to design and build a major addition to our modest 1400 sf bungalow. We met with five other design build companies in the area but were most impressed with OCHD. The design process was handled by Niels, the owner, and it was a fun collaborative process that resulted in a floor plan that met all of our wish list with a beautiful exterior that seemlessly integrated the existing structure. Our home was transformed from a cramped little house to a gracious living space with room to entertain large crowds, closets everywhere (!), a beautiful master bedroom and ensuite and a huge kitchen and adjacent dining area. The end result was everything we wanted and more, on time and on budget (they are known for tight cost control). The building process was extremely well executed with constant oversight by OCHD to ensure that no detail was overlooked. OCHD took care of everything, we only had to make the fun decisions like choosing finishes or paint colours, but even there we were given lots of suggestions when we couldn't decide or were suffering from "decision exhaustion". Yet if we wanted to make changes along the way, those were easily accommodated. If you are a homeowner contemplating a renovation or new build, you would do well to at least meet with OCHD for a free consult. Reasonable construction costs, excellent design sense, a great client-builder relationship, and most importantly a beautiful final product - your new home! I can honestly say that working with OCHD was a pleasure and one of the best things to happen to our family. June 29, 2013”

“Professional and personal service! Highly recommended for home design and renovation projects. We hired HASHTI Consultants Inc. to help us develop a plan to redesign the exterior of our older home. After several consultations, they provided us with a number of design options to chose from. We worked together to refine the plan and were appreciative of they responsiveness to our questions and comments. We have now developed a final plan and were so impressed with their professionalism and the level of communication throughout the process that we plan to hire HASHTI to oversee the building phase of this project. I know that our project will be in good hands.”
