“Corinne, My basement bathroom renovation story actually began with a discussion with my husband about replacing our 1960’s avocado green upstairs bathtub, our only bathtub. The space is too small for the bathroom of my dreams, complete with a freestanding tub, so my husband and I had been discussing our green tub for 12 years now. I knew that the only way to conveniently replace that green tub upstairs was to renovate the dark and depressing corner of our basement which I guess you could call a partial bath but up till now had mostly been used for storing our sons’ hockey equipment. Then literally in walks Centennial. Paul was his name and he was the technician sent to service our furnace. I knew that Centennial renovated bathrooms and I asked Paul if they did basement bathrooms and he offered to take a look at our bathroom. I had my doubts that I could have a dream bathroom in the basement but Paul assured me that I could have whatever I wanted; they could dig up the lines and put the fixtures where I wanted them including a free-standing soaker tub. It took my husband and I a few months to decide to go ahead with a renovation and the first place we went to was Centennial. Paul had been so helpful and we had always had great service from the local company. I hadn’t realized how much the company had grown. Their showroom was spectacular. We met with one of their designers, Corinne Kaye, had a tour of the showroom and set a date for her to come and see our space. While I had an idea of what I wanted the bathroom to look like it was wonderful and such a relief to have someone as knowledgeable as Corinne walk us through all the steps. She was amazing. In no time at all my husband and I were looking at the most beautiful 3D rendition of our future bathroom. We were actually pretty shocked. No way could our current locker room look that good! Corinne and I met a few more times to pick out finishes and by this time I felt that she could read my mind and knew exactly the look I was going for and I must admit I was getting pretty excited. Next was the actual renovation. I must admit I was nervous. This was our first major renovation and I wasn’t sure how our family and our dog would cope with the interruption in our lives. All I can say is that I never had so much fun in my life! The renovation went really smoothly thanks to Bob, the project manager, and Pete, our carpenter. They were there every day making sure everything was as it was supposed to be. It was such a relief to know that they were taking care of all the details. Every technician that came to our house was friendly and so very considerate of our family’s needs. Pete was amazing with the finishing work his patience and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Corinne came by frequently and it was fun to share my excitement with her as the bathroom took its shape. The end result is absolutely stunning, literally like something out of a magazine. I honestly am in love with the bathtub. It is like a dream come true to have my own personal sanctuary in the house. We are still giving tours to our friends and recommending Centennial to them for their upcoming projects. Thanks Centennial for all your help making this dream a reality….next on the agenda is the avocado tub! Sincerely, Lori Meadows P.S. I like to think of this renovations story as titled Thanks to Paul…. my husband however titles it Paul’s Fault.”
