She was great and immediately told me how to balance the room, how to tie in the reclaimed wood mantel my husband really wanted, and offered her input on paint colors, fireplace stone, backsplash choices and more. If money was no object, I would not hesitate to hire her to fully design every room in my house!!!”

“Total Transformation: After ten years in our house we realized how little we used our yard so when a kitchen remodel tore up the backyard we had the opportunity to fix that issue. In our first meeting with Richard Lusk, we described our desire to add a water feature to our 30-year-old back yard and transform our hillside jungle into useful space with a sitting and dining area and a fireplace; all while maintaining a casual free flowing feel. He returned with a plan that was everything we wanted and more.... The front entry gained a low walled landing and plinth with armillary that gave the entire house a new focal point. The formal plantings of boxwood, fern, acanthus, Bay Laurel Trees, white roses and white azaleas transition from the entry through the front gate to the formal courtyard where you are welcomed by a burbling fountain and seating area. The side yard and iron gate welcome you to the rear of the house with a hillside waterfall, framed by the dinning arbor and cascading into the pool. The seating area is a “stone dock” accessed by stepping-stones built into the pool, perfect for an evening glass of wine in front of the fireplace. Outside of the office is a pair of club chairs perfect to enjoy a morning cup of coffee next to the firepit, Jacuzzi, and cooking area. The plantings in the backyard are an eclectic mix of succulents, grasses and traditional plants and trees. All of the large boulders and rocks for the waterfall were excavated from the pool and used through out the landscape. Transformation accomplished! We highly recommend Richard’s services. Our project was done- tear out to landscaped and pool filled--in three and a half months! That included every inch of our yard and the exterior surfaces of the house. His staff are experts in their specific field, organized and courteous.”

“David from DC Landscaping designed and constructed our backyard and we love the result. He did pavers, a patio cover, grass, and clean up. On his first consultation, he brought a landscape designer (also a landscape design professor at Cal Poly Pomona) and gave us the option of a professional design rendering. We didn't go that route, since we were looking for a basic backyard design. Nevertheless, with David's own eye for design, it came out beautifully. He consulted on styles and designs along the way. He provided options, what was necessary and what was optional, that best fit our budget. He is very customer service oriented, rare in the contractor world; a true professional. I especially liked how he reused material where possible, to keep costs down and to keep waste from going to a landfill. We did have to wait a few months after placing a deposit, which shows how in demand he is. If you are planning on working with DC, make sure you place your deposit as soon as possible.”
