“At Studio Spice we worked with Jonathan De Friend to source 400 sq m of flooring and staircase cladding for a large private residential renovation project. We were looking for something contemporary but organic. He found for us a bespoke wall to wall planks solution, using high grade ash, that was engineered in the UK, so with minimal carbon footprint. He liaised between us and the mill, oversaw installation, was excellent in coordinating timelines and installation conditions with the main contractor and made great suggestions for smaller details, such as threshold detailing and position of cuts. He also stayed in touch for a great after sales service and snagging. We will certainly be working with Jonathan again.”

“Ivan Passas is a rare thing: a true craftsman and perfectionist who provides his clients a wealth of knowledge at a reasonable cost, within budget and on time. He takes on any job, small or large, with the same enthusiasm and he brings to it a seriousness which makes you feel that your job is the only one that matters. Every year we have to renew the wooden surfaces on our terrace, including expensive teak furniture. Most people simply put on a light coat of teak oil that leaves the furniture grey by the end of the season, but Ivan sanded down all surfaces professionally and applied several coats of teak oil to the furniture and Osmo Oil (German) for the Brazilian Iroko floor and now everything looks like new. He will do the same next year, Yet, in addition I have asked him to do the same thing for my hardwood cherry hand-made kitchen, as well as renew the wooden floors throughout our home. It would be hard to find anyone as good as Ivan , and his side-kick Paul, so he gets my highest recommendation. “I really like this product and the company. I'm an architect and have done lots of resin floors in all kinds of buildings (dmfk.co.uk), but there are not many resin flooring contractors who know how to work in residential situations. Sphere 8 have honed their product and service to suit the residential market. I ummed and ahhed about using it in my house and Alex Dennis and team were very straightforward about preparation, and showed me lots of good examples of how the product works in a range of settings from super modern spaces to listed buildings. I used it in my house with under floor heating in my main family room we've been delighted with it. It's been down for over 5 years now, has taken an absolute battering from parties / kids etc. and still looks great and cleans very easily. Since then, I've used it in a residential farmhouse conversion flowing from a kitchen with an Aga through to stone walled spaces, in offices, in modern houses, and traditional houses in various colours and it always works out great. Provided you take their very clear advice about preparation etc., the whole process is pretty simple. I would definitely recommend it in a home.”
