“This review is for someone looking for the right contractor/ partner for a major renovation or construction or if you have an insurance claim and don’t know what to do. Our story started when we faced an insurance claim due to water damage from a pipe burst. We were out of town when the incident occurred, but after returning home, we had a few inches of water on our entire 1st floor (almost 3,000 SF). It is hard to believe until you go through it how much damage a few inches of water can cause (this was our first and hopefully last house insurance incident). As you can imagine, we had to do the standard procedure as follows: 1.Removed everything that got wet to eliminate mold growth - i.e., baseboards, dry walls up to 2 ft, hardwood floors, all cabinets, insulation, etc 2.Disinfected and started the drying process 3.Removed all furniture and personal belongings to a storage unit to create room to work inside the house. 4.Find a place to live 5.Others With all the above happening super fast, as you can imagine, we were super distressed, but it was just the beginning of a long journey. We now needed to find a way to rebuild our damaged home. This was when a friend recommended Trey with Brooks Construction. I am a civil engineer and was very careful with our contractor selection process. We met a few of them, but none made us feel comfortable that we could trust and/ or had the needed resources and experience to rebuild our home quickly.
