“Had 2 bathrooms gutted and redone. The finished product looks great. John and NB were great communicators, was always available by text. The subs were talented, great plumber and tiler. Took longer, but some of that was me with change orders. Made sure through the entire project we always had in inside toilet. Bid came in at the middle, still not cheap but the end result was worth it.”

“Thank Goodness we found Appetite for Construction! Our family was in the beginning stages of a major remodeling project when we lost our contractor to unforeseen circumstances. We panicked! Most companies were completely booked when we got a referral from a friend to given Mike (owner and general contractor) a call. That phone call started a one year relationship with Mike and his crew and we cannot say enough good things about him and his company. First of all he was able to squeeze us into an already very busy schedule of his, and despite being extremely busy we immediately knew we would be well taken care of. It's not an easy task to take over a project that had been started by another company. His strong communication and extensive experience working on remodeling homes definetnly showed. The transition was smooth and he was able to keep our original timeline and meet all expectations we originally had for the project. My husband and i were amazed at his ability to navigate working with the original sub-contractors that were already lined up to work. When Mike's crew came in to do parts of the project they were all professional, efficient and very easy to work with as well. Mike clearly has good established relationships with the building inspectors and is an expert in knowing all the in's and out's of the city's proccess. I believe only ONE of the inspections didn't pass (a minor change needed to be made), which allowed us to stay on time and ON BUDGET! Mike is also a designer in disguise. When getting to the finish work, he offered suggestions on how certain details could add better function but also better design overall. We were sold on his ideas and the execution and attention to detail was spot on. We could not be happier with how our project turned out. So much so, we already have future projects in the works. “In 2010/11 John Lyng worked to completely renovate my home in Potrero Hill, San Francisco, a 100+ year Victorian cottage. This was a major job: we took it back to the studs: opened all the interior walls, connected 2 levels that had been previously separate units, and reconfigured the layouts of both levels. The project took about 8 months so I got to know John and his work well. I found John to be a pleasure to work with: first, he is a very good guy, absolutely trustworthy. He listened carefully to me and advised me when my ideas needed tweaking. He is a great craftsman and he cares personally that the work is excellent in quality. John designed the staircase with skylight connecting the 2 levels and it is a central feature of the house; I am so happy with it. He designed and built several custom features of my house including a niche and a vanity. John is also able to keep an eye on the budget and I feel I got great value for the money spent. He has a strong work ethic and will put in the effort necessary to get the job completed. I would absolutely work with John on a future project.”
