“I'm the fortunate and proud owner of two custom homes designed by Greg Dedona. One is in Mill Valley, Marin County (1999, remodel) and the other is in McCloud, Siskiyou County (2013, tear-down & full new construction). Greg's mastery of design, materials and construction processes created two stunning, unique, buildable and affordable homes. His ability to creatively merge our family's goals, an evolving joint vision for the houses and the highly different administrative processes of these two sharply contrasting counties was something I believe very few (if any?) other architects could achieve. From the most rural contractor resources in Siskiyou to the most experienced and high-end pros in Marin, Greg demonstrated an ability to forge loose and disparate bands of craftsmen into a cohesive team. His leadership was respected by everyone involved - strikingly unusual in the often friction-plagued relationships one sees between contractor and architect. Perhaps most creatively, our McCloud home made great use of owner-procured (i.e., salvaged!) locally sourced, recycled materials - 100 yr old wood floors, replaned structural doug fir for interior trim, refurbished Wedgewood kitchen stoves etc.. In sharp contrast to architects who often scorn such an approach, Greg was invaluable in his advice on how to make these materials work. He helped us source many of them through his amazing array of contacts not just in Marin, but from Tahoe to the Oregon border. Highest possible rating...were there a lifetime achievement award for residential architecture in California, Greg Dedona has already earned it.”

“We hired IGreen builders to remodel our master bathroom. The company was the fourth we interviewed with and we were deeply impressed by Liron Knot wide experience, their design ideas and their reasonable price, so we offered them the job on the spot. We were so glad we did that! This was a wonderful team - Liron gave us lots of great ideas on the design. He was our project manager, and was very experienced and customer oriented. I often called him multiple times a day and he was always very patient to answer my questions and kept me updated on the daily schedule. The crew was very professional, courteous and highly skillful - we really love the great tile work. Tony and his folks did an excellent job. Now we enjoyed our beautiful bathroom everyday and we are so glad we hired this team. We love their work so much that we decided to remodel the two bathrooms upstairs as well with them, which are ongoing right now.”

“I am an interior designer in the San Francisco Bay Area and it has been my distinct pleasure to work with Frank Puliafico on many projects since 1992. His work, and that of his excellent crews, is of the highest quality and the experience of working with Frank is always a delight. Designers always worry about their projects but I never worry about a project if Frank is the builder. He is, at all times, organized, proactive, honest, dependable, trustworthy and smart. He has carefully trained his crews and they are some of the best craftsmen (and people) I've had the pleasure to work with in my career. Frank has the breadth of knowledge and experience to assess a job, trouble-shoot any potential issues in advance, fairly price and prepare spreadsheets on both costs and schedule, and manage all aspects of the project effortlessly (or at least it seems that way!). “Dave Rasmussen and all of the people that work with him are among the most highly skilled, resourceful, honest and considerate people that we have ever had work on our home. Deadlines and budgets were respected and for the most part were adhered to, unless we changed the scope of work. On many aspects of the construction we were presented with various options so that the completed project (a kitchen, pantry, bar, family room and finished lower level) was very tailored to our needs. The whole crew was respectful to our neighbors who never complained during the year-long project. Dave worked seamlessly with architect David Gast, whom I would also highly recommend, so that the entire project proceeded smoothly without time delays or problems of communication.”

“We recently completed our 3rd large scale project with SF Design Build .... first a major remodel of our condo in 2008.... then a major seismic upgrade for our entire building in 2010...and now a complete exterior painting and new deck construction and maintenance completions for the entire building (a three story structure in NOPA). Basically they went over this entire huge building tooth and nail fixing and updating every inch. Our 87 year old wood construction building is now in near perfect condition. We keep returning to Rudy, Jessica and the SFDB team for the simple reason that they are honest, professional, thorough, budget-wise and conscious and have excellent follow up. The quality of the work by Samuel, Hugo, Ceasar, Eric and the others is excellent. These guys are real craftsmen and it shows. What a pleasure to see their finished work! All of the workers are company employees and have been with SFDB for all the years we have used the company. No day hires! We bid this work, as we did our other projects, and SFDB once again came in competitive. (they were not the cheapest but also held an advantage over "just" painting contractors because as a general contractor they have their own scaffolding. the other painters bid the work then had an "add on" for scaffolding that in some cases could add $5k to the cost.) they completed the work on budget. No gimmicks, add ons etc. during the work they found that some planking on one side of the building had been repaired poorly many years ago and had to be replaced. this added about 3 days to the job with some cost increase but they showed how it was necesary. One of the best things about SFDB is that there are no surprises. They work entirely through the project with no gaps or no show days. they clean up EVERY DAY and leave the work site as accessible as possible, respecting the owners living space. I would highly recommend SF Design Build. Like the PGA ads on television ... "These Guys are Good!...."”
