“We hired Gordon Weima Design Builder and his associated trades based on a recommendation from our architect. Mr. Weima served as the project manager. He was responsible to hire the trades, monitor their work and schedule, and oversee the construction budget. The project at hand was to build a modern addition to an existing century old house and modernized the interior of the existing house. The house is located in a heritate district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The work was performed pursuant to the specifications as outlined in the plans provided by the architect. By the end of the project, the living space increased by 75 per cent. Mr. Weima and his trades did excellent work. Apart from a situation out of his control, the work was completed on time and within budget. He was able to schedule his trades to ensure that there would be no down time between the various phases of construction. This enabled us to plan for our move back into the house. We very much like the work that he and his trades did. His after service has also been very good. During the construction phase he took the time to point out some deficiencies that normally we would not have observed. Also, during the construction phase, he took the time to walk us through questions/concerns that we had and advised us how he would address the matter. Mr. Weima also kept the construction site clean and ensured that his trades did not encroach on the property of adjacent neighbours. We would welcome the opportunity to work with Mr. Weima in the future should we decide to undertake a similar project in the future. I would invite you to seriously consider Mr. Weima as part of your construction plans, whether it be to build an addition or new house. “We found in particular that Moneca was really wonderful at listening to us and to how we use our home and backyard. This was reflected in the ideas she generated for us. We thought we'd already explored all the possibilities for making our 2 bedroom house work for our family of 4, but Moneca had some great new insight and ideas we hadn't considered for renos, and/or for us to be able to make do without heavy renos. She's also great at 'sourcing' furniture, materials, etc., and afterwards she made us a pinterest board with things she'd pulled together for our backyard, which was really lovely and helpful. And as I'd talked about our porcelain tile floor being too hard of a surface in our living room, she sourced us a lovely and elegant floating cork click tile.”

“Carolyn Munro has extensive 30 years experience in designing and building and it showed on our kitchen renovation. By moving the location of the refrigerator, she made our kitchen look 3 feet wider! She also brought the wall behind our stove out 4 inches and created a beautiful mosaic design behind our slide-in stove that is an outstanding focal point in our kitchen. The kitchen went from gutting it to final delivery in under 4 weeks. She and her crew work very neatly and cleaned up each work day which was important to us since we were living in the house during the renovation. She also got us new stone tiling down the centre of our house and into the powder room and laundry room, hardwood in the dining room and living room, and renovated the powder room. She found us new ceiling light fixtures for the hallway, recommended larger baseboards, and new paint colours. This took only 2 extra weeks. We are thrilled with our gorgeous kitchen and feel like we're living in a new home! We highly recommend Carolyn Munro Design-Build. She and her team are very professional and easy to work with!”
