“Mario and Christian took a dull, plain 1978 townhome and transformed it into a beautiful Italian-style home. It is gorgeous! The walls in every room are textured, faux beams were added, recessed lighting, and a combination of tile and hardwood floors. The renovation was done prior to us obtaining the home, but we contacted them as soon as we purchased the property to add a few things, paint, and tile the patio. Mario's design aesthetic is spot on! Both Mario and Christian pay attention to the most minute detail...and it shows. We could not have asked for a more professional job. Neat, tidy, within our budget, and on time! Every single person who we have recommended them to has phoned us to say how thankful they are!”

“So Cal Builders and Design did a massive remodeling job on my condominium earlier this year in March. The condo was bought by me last year for a really great value, relative to living in L.A. heh, but the problem was it was fairly "worn" from use from the previous tenants who I gathered weren't particularly good neighbors. Regardless, with the great value that So Cal Builders gave me when I called them over to go over the estimate, made it all worth while. I had a limited budget, but they worked with what I had. Regardless of the limitations, they did a fantastic job with the kitchen by adding new cabinets, re-flooring and re-painting the kitchen walls. The living room and the hallway got a brand new coat of paint, and they removed the ugly and stained carpet to replace with laminate flooring. My girlfriend and I wanted them to make sure they paid extra attention to the bathroom and bedroom. So that was where the majority of the work went. Not to mention that the bathroom was a god awful mess that needed a new plumbing job! We replaced the bath tub that was taking so much space with a standing shower, which gave us tons more room, new vanity and lighting. Over all the job was fantastically done!”

“Our extraordinary custom home, designed and reconstructed by October 5 Fine Home Builders is undeniably a work of art. October 5 offers superior design and execution, where form and function converge. Ryan, the project superintendent, attends to every detail with an eye for quality and perfection. Their open-floor plan design blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, light abounds in every room, yet the space remains purposely private and intimate. Originally constructed in 1953, our home had not undergone any remodeling or updating. During construction, the house was all but demolished - leaving only the rough framing and portions of the exterior stucco and siding. Earthquake updates, 200 amp electrical service, beefed-up insulation, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, smooth drywall, wide-plank flooring, bathrooms, kitchen, and dual-glazed windows supported the bulk of the project, which lasted 4 ½ months. With clean contemporary lines, the modern floor plan, great for entertaining, offers a celebrated life-style. What a beautiful and relaxing way to enjoy life! We say, “Call October 5 to celebrate your next project.””

“We hired Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions to do an energy audit and upgrade our 100- year old historic, but non-insulated home. Although we love our home, it was too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer, and our utility bills were high. They upgraded our attic insulation, air sealed our attic, installed wall insulation, sealed our existing duct work, installed LowE insulation in our crawlspace, air sealed the old craftsman wood windows, and installed a high efficiency tankless water heater. They did a highly professional job. All the Harding Construction workers were very knowledgeable about everything related to energy efficiency and always courteous, prompt, and hardworking. Their work resulted in a much more comfortable home, with lower energy bills. Wes worked very hard to ensure that we met all the city historical requirements and were eligible for all of available rebates. Because of their thoroughness, our home was more energy efficient and we received the maximum rebates from all participating agencies. We even were able to obtain a Green Point certificate from Build It Green for our newly renovated green home. “We gutted a four unit apartment building. Lauri redesigned the entire building. front to back and top to bottom. All the interior details were amazing: crown, base boards, doors, windows, shelves, fire place, bathrooms, etc She was very responsive and had great ideas which we implemented. She worked well with the city, the contractor, the engineer,and the inspector as needed. She coordinated everything we needed and acted as our advocate.
