The original fireplace was resurfaced with hand cut stacked stone. After looking at the pre cut stacked stone options we realized that there was nothing finer than the masons sample of hand cut and placed material. The only down side was the continual scream of the tile saw for seemingly endless days. I gifted the owners with a driftwood mantle piece found at the base of the cliffs below. We wondered if the burned end was from the previous years fires. The owner has built many handrails with singed driftwood that had been washed down the creeks from the back country. The irony of knowing that people had lost their homes in local fires was not lost on all who worked on the project. Mehosh Dziadzio

The large picture window brings abundant light to this contemporary living space. The exposed red brick fireplace was transformed by resurfacing with natural white sandstone and framed in a complimentary white dentil mantel and decorative casing.
Neutral colors of beige, white and off-white were chosen for the new carpet and paint, giving an elegant look throughout.
