Clark Builders, Inc.

“Clark Builders are simply amazing and we can't say enough good things about them. We recently hired Clark Builders for a master bathroom addition and remodel, which also turned into new siding on our entire house and garage, and the results are incredible! Working with Brian and Heidi Clark is so refreshing, they are so incredibly nice, they truly listen to you, they are very knowledgeable about everything building and design related, they work with any size project and budget and most of all, they are honest. The entire Clark Builders team are also equally amazing, so friendly, polite and extremely hard working. They are all great at their jobs and continuously went above and beyond to ensure and maintain the highest quality workmanship. You can tell they take great pride in what they do and the results speak for themselves. We absolutely love our new master bathroom addition and all the incredible work on our home and whole heartedly recommend them for any general contractor needs.”

James Johnson Construction Inc.

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 25, 2017
“I hired James Johnson in the summer of 2016 to act as General Contractor on the restoration of my 96 year-old Craftsman bungalow near The Historic Old Mission. The project scope was initially focused on interior remodeling and “tune ups” - including building a laundry room in a hall closet, revamping the kitchen cabinetry and stone surfaces, custom cabinetry in the media room, some plumbing upgrades and painting. Additionally, I had used another contractor to replace the foundation who was hired before James came on board and the cooperation between the two was seamless. With James’s assistance and recommendations, we wound up replacing the exterior of the home as the original cedar shingling became obsolete and in need of replacement due to the extensive nature of the foundation work. As a result, the exterior work also required: (i) insulation (including application of a WRB); (ii) highly skilled carpentry as to the shingling replacement and application; and, (iii) rebuilding and restoration of the original trim and porches. James was instrumental in working with the city through the permitting processes as well. This was ultimately a large project in which his project management and design skills were flawless. He showed a respect for the architecture of the home and its original design, while creating a more modern aesthetic. His employees demonstrated excellent carpentry skills and reliability; moreover, James interfaced with and managed the subcontractors in a highly professional manner. Communication and professionalism are hallmarks of James’s management style. He was always available and a delight to work with. I would recommend James without reservation or hesitation. He has a wonderful “bedside manner,” is diligent and dependable, a good listener, and possesses high integrity and a great work ethic. (I invite the reader to look the photos of the finished product and judge for yourself.)”
