“Kinash Construction helped me with my home renovation. We added an secondary suite to the side of our house and a dormer to the room above the garage. (see house renovation pictured with the red house.) Jay Kinash, the owner, is very knowledgeable with the the whole building process from designing to framing and finishing. He is also very well connected in the community and knows the best tradesmen to help with all the extras. His quotes are accurate and his employees are respectful and hard workers. He even trusted me enough to do a few simple jobs. Overall very happy to have hired Kinash Construction to do our renovation! It went as smoothly as construction can go! I would recommend for any type of construction or project.”

The project required an engineered solution to meet our needs of adding two rooms over our garage, drywall, finishing of the garage, installation of upgraded HVAC to meet the larger house size, new stucco, new eavestrophing, fascia, soffit, new finishings in all upper floor. Second project on secondary property was to assist with proper sealing of crawl space and increasing insulation in attic. He communicates clearly and often with photos and project updates, and responds to questions or concerns very very quickly. Darcy is extremely committed to his projects and works tirelessly to keep things running according to plan. When the inevitable reno surprises came up, or when we changed our mind about something, he calmly managed the situation and ensured it was resolved. Darcy has a background in project management and uses these skills to his clients advantage. I believe this sets him apart from others in the home renovation business.”

“We had Kavaleer Homes and Renovations complete the construction of our legal secondary suite, and assist in the design and permit process leading up-to construction. I’m really glad Kyle with Kavaleer was involved from the beginning as the house was not a typical conversation and Kyle provided creative and cost effective solutions that met all the City requirements. Even still, the renovation came in on time, on budget, and passed all inspections without an issue. The tenants we selected have been very happy in the space and we haven’t had any workmanship issues at all.”

“We are currently having a complete renovation done on our home. This is a 6-8 month project. All the walls were taken out in our upstairs and downstairs bungalow, and our general contractor, Ultimate Renovations have worked closely with us to develop a new design. We have chosen Ultimate Renovations as this organization has since 1979 been Calgary's only 8 time Renovator of the year and Winner of 30 CHBA Renovation Awards. We have also seen the quality of work in their previous projects. All the staff of Ultimate Renovations, and their suppliers are very customer focussed, professional, and take the extra time to do quality work. We are living in one of Ultimate's rental homes as they do the work. Work is in progress. We are pleased with the quality work that is being done. We also have access to a wonderful designer from Renew Designs, also from Calgary. We have and are also truly benefiting from houzz.com's website, as we are able to obtain a lot of our ideas from there.”

“Marc Gibbons worked as our project manager when completing our full home renovation. Marc was an excellent person to work with. He was very professional at all times. Marc always new exactly what was going on in our house and what projects would be happening next. He always made sure projects were being completed correctly and on time. He always kept us informed and took time to explain everything going on. Marc is a very kind and friendly individual. He is very approachable and easy to talk to. We really enjoyed working with Marc.”

“I had initially wanted to do the renovating of my basement myself on the weekends but after a few months and failed starts my wife and I decided we better hire a professional and I would just keep my day job… and my marriage, lol. We spent a bit of time looking for the right contractor to build our basement. I wasn’t really looking for anything special, my wife wanted a built in for the laundry, that’s all she cared about. We had three companies come out to give us an estimate. Brad (from Urban Abode’s) came somewhere in the middle. What I liked about Brad is he listened to what we wanted and made some very unique suggestions that we didn’t even think about, like utilizing the space under our stairs to put in a bookcase and some other nifty ideas with built-ins and a murphy bed. Our basement did not have the space to have a dedicated bedroom but this was a very good option for us – especially because my wife had her parents stay with us over the holidays. He showed us what our basement would look like in a 3d rendering so we knew exactly what the final product would look like and we decided what we wanted to do from that. I have to say that I am very very happy with the final outcome. Brad was straight forward in his quote, there was nothing hidden so we knew that there wasn’t going to be any surprises in the end. We had a written warranty to protect us if something did go wrong in the future. I have to say, our space looks amazing and we have already recommended them to our friends. If you are looking for a contractor that has an eye for design and the people to implement it, you should definitely give Brad a call from Urban Abode.”

“Tay-ky completed our kitchen demolition and helped with installation of new countertops and a sink and related work on a kitchen project. The work was completed on time and within budget, Colin and his crew were usually on time or early on days they were supposed to come and they did a great job with clean up afterwards. They even came on weekends. Colin gave us some very good ideas that have worked in his experience and which have been great from our perspective (the push button for the garbage disposal). We have another project pending this year and we fully intend to use Tay-ky for this one as well.”
